What is slow living? Here are 12 ways to live slow and learn about the are of slow living.

Just recently I started reading about the slow living movement. While there are a few ways to describe what “slow living” is, my takeaway is that it’s about taking a step back from the hustle and bustle of life, by creating space to do things that make us present. And usually, that includes doing everyday things at a slow pace (and preferably, in a quiet setting). And the result is that we learn how to slow down and enjoy the simple, little things that we’d normally take for granted. Like a cup of coffee in the morning, a meal during lunch break, or just sitting down in a quiet room & reading.

I didn’t realize how I was already living a life similar to this but I didn’t know there was a name for it. I started living this way as a remedy for my depression & anxiety that resulted from a traumatic relationship five years ago.

Today, I don’t live the slow living lifestyle as often as I did before but I do notice there are times I need to slow down. So I try to incorporate it into my daily morning routine (which I’d love to show in a future video.)

For now, if you’re interested in how to start living slowly, you’ll get a few slow living ideas from my video. I did this on Valentine’s day, so the video might feel a bit more “themed” towards the holiday but everything I show can be done any time of the year 🙂
