If you’re a new blogger & you’re wondering how to grow your blog with 0 views & 0 followers, then you’re about to learn a lot of things in this video!
In my personal experience from growing my blog in the last few years, I can say there is a lot of outdated information out there that I used to follow that actually ended up wasting my time like for example, Instagram pods & Facebook follow trains.
Especially when I was just starting blogging, I really thought the key was focusing on my social media accounts to grow my blog but I was soooo wrong.
I mean, there are ways to do it, but you would need to commit a lot of time to really succeed in it.
I’m going to share easy tips that grow your blog that doesn’t require you to spend hours commenting on other people’s posts or following them, hoping they’ll follow you back.
I’ll show you were put your time & energy and get the most return because let’s be real, you don’t have all the time in the world and you just want to hit the ground already.
So let’s get started!

What does it mean to “grow a blog?”
Okay, so I’m going to cover 2 main topics today, and that is growing your traffic, meaning getting people to read your blog, and growing your following, so that, overall, your blog grows and you can finally monetize it & make money with it once you hit that 1000 mark. So first off-
First off, get your foundation down
And by foundation I mean, choosing your niche, defining your audience, and building a clean & easy-to-read website. If you don’t have this foundation down, it’s going to be REALLY hard to grow your blog. If you’re not sure how to go about this, I’ve got a step-by-step checklist you can refer to, to make sure you have everything down before moving on to the next step. Click the button below.
Alright, now let’s get into the juice of this post!
How to drive traffic to your blog (get more views & readers)
You’re going to have to drive your traffic from somewhere if you don’t have any followers on Instagram or Facebook to promote to. So what’s your next option? Google & Pinterest. So to do that, you’ll first want to-
Write SEO-friendly blog posts
SEO means Search Engine Optimization. This means writing your blog post in a specific way to make it searchable via Google. This will include using certain keywords people would type in the search bar to find your blog post. As well as, formatting your text, changing your meta-description, and even making photos on your blog searchable using Alt-Text. If that sounds confusing, I make it much easier to digest in my video here. So check it out. You can check out this video here where I go much more in-depth about it.

Create a Pinterest graphic for your blog post
Once you’ve written your SEO-friendly blog post, you’ll want to create a Pinterest graphic. What is that? So if you have seen any of my blog posts, you’ll find that they all start with an image featuring the title of the post. This is what you call a Pinterest graphic and you want EVERY blog post to have this graphic. Why? Because it’s going to drive traffic not only from Google but also, with Pinterest. That way you’re driving traffic from multiple sources and all of your eggs aren’t in one basket.
When you design your graphic, make sure your title is easy to read with large text on it. You want to make sure that people can read it when they scroll through Pinterest on their phones. Canva.com has got great Pinterest templates you can use if you feel like graphic design isn’t your strength.
Upload that Pinterest graphic into Pinterest
Pinterest works as a visual search engine which is why I create graphics for each blog post, to make sure that my blog posts are searchable by visually by Pinterest and even Google Images.
So there are two ways to upload your Pinterest graphic into Pinterest:
- Upload it directly to Pinterest – make sure to include a keyword-rich description of your blog post and of course, the link to said blog post
- Pinterest Extension for Google Chrome – I love this extension. So instead of uploading your pin directly to Pinterest, you can use the extension to save your pin into your Pinterest board straight from your blog post. It will automatically copy the title of your blog post, the link, and if you added a Pinterest description in the Alt-Text of your image (which, again, you can learn how to do it from this video), it will save that Pinterest description too.
Watch your traffic grow
And now you sit back & watch your traffic grow. Of course, it’s going to take at least 3 months to start seeing traffic to each blog post you publish. So while you’re waiting, continue to create content every week. Google & Pinterest love fresh, new content and it lets them know your blog isn’t stagnant, it’s something you’re continually adding value in and they love that. I also recommend optimizing your Pinterest account to represent your blog. You can look at my Pinterest account here for example. I’m not saying it’s the best and you should absolutely follow how I optimized it but I worked hard on it and it’s a pretty good example to start from. I also recommend going back to your old blog posts and making them SEO-friendly with the tips I just shared with you.
And now you know how to drive traffic to your blog with 0 views & 0 subscribers. AND without using Instagram or Facebook!
I’ve seen it happen to too many people where they spent hours increasing their likes & following on social media because they think that will grow their blog but it doesn’t. Next thing they know, they’re wondering why they’ve spent so many hours with little return. It’s just not worth the stress! And to be honest, the number of your likes & followers is too tiny of a problem to think about. Occupy yourself with problems like “how can I better serve my audience?” or “how can I further grow my email list?” Speaking of email lists-
How to get people to follow & subscribe to your blog
Now that you know how to drive traffic to your blog, you’ll want to make sure you’re not letting that traffic go to waste. So what do you do with it? You turn them to followers!
Start an email list
Aside from growing your following on Instagram or Facebook, I recommend the first platform you should be growing your followers on is on a platform that you own that doesn’t come with a darn algorithm that these days, has become a pay-to-play algorithm. (You know what I’m talking about.) So what’s that platform going to be? An email list.
You can easily create an email list with an email service provider like ConvertKit (which by the way is free to use up until you reach 1000 subscribers). Create a sign-up form and copy & paste that form all over your website like on your header, your sidebar, in your About page, and in every blog post. Anywhere where there’s space.
End EVERY blog post with a call-to-action
Make sure to include a call-to-action to move your readers to do something after they’ve finished reading your blog post. You can include something like “Sign up for my email list and never miss the lastest tips.” Or “If you want to see behind-the-scenes of my blog, check out my Instagram/Facebook over here.” That way, you can grow your email list & social media profiles, and later promote your blog posts through them each time you post. That way you’re not just getting traffic from new readers but from your followers. What you can also do is-
Create a freebie as an incentive for readers to sign up
So how else can you get people to sign up for your email list? You create a freebie or a free download. Because sometimes simple “Sign up for my newsletter!” isn’t going to be enough of a reason to subscribe if you’re a new blogger. You’ll need a freebie as an incentive. And it can be something that’s easy for you to make that you think will add value to your audience. This could be anything from a worksheet, to a checklist, to a template, anything. And you can also easily create these with Canva too. They also have templates for it.
Next, set up your signup form to automatically send your new subscribers an email with the freebie. And as traffic starts trickling in with steady growth, your email list starts to grow steadily too.
Watch your following grow
This will take at least 3 months so again, continue to create content for your audience every week. Google & Pinterest love it. And then once you hit 1000 subscribers, you are ready to sell your own product/service or start approaching brands to promote their products in exchange for money. WHOA. Didn’t think it’d be possible to do that soon, huh? It is.
