I recommend Adobe Lightroom for bloggers and photographers!
It’s a must-have tool where you get to edit, organize, store and share your photos from anywhere. It’s an industry-standard for many beginner & professional bloggers and photographers. You can also connect it to the Lightroom Mobile app so you can edit on-the-go too! More info on Lightroom here.

How to Edit Photos Using Adobe Lightroom
1. In the Develop module, adjust the Calibration settings
- Red Primary
- Hue: +50
- Blue Primary
- Hue: -50
This creates the base for the orange & teal hue which is a classic look that makes the shadows cooler and the highlights warmer.
2. Adjust the tone settings
Since no photo is the same, I go over these adjustments one by one. Typically, this is what I decrease & increase in the settings. I also include the numbers that I used in the tutorial.
- Increase
- Exposure (+1.00)
- Contrast
- Shadows (+20)
- Decrease
- Highlights (-100)
- Blacks (-60)
3. Adjust the Presence Settings
- Vibrance: +100
- Saturation: -20
These are the settings I use to make colors in my photo look deeper & richer. But I decrease the saturation a little bit to take the edge off because it’s a little too saturated.
4. Create a s-Curve in Tone Curve
I like to create a slight S-curve to create contrast in my photos and to also add a fade effect where the blacks aren’t too dark and the highlights aren’t too white.
5. Adjust the White Balance settings to skin tone
- Temp
- Tint
Since no photo is the same (again), I make these adjustments per photo. But a general rule I follow is if the skin looks too cool, I increase the Temp to make it warmer and vice versa. And if the skin looks too green, I increase the Tint to make it a little magenta and vice versa.
6. Adjust the HSL/COLOR settings
This is a creative step so it depends on the look you’re going for your photos but this is how I like to edit mine to make sure the skin isn’t too orange and that the trees aren’t too yellow and the blue isn’t too saturated. These are the settings I used:
- Orange
- Hue: -10
- Yellow
- Hue: +75
- Saturation: -75
- Blue
- Hue: -20
- Saturation: -80
7. And that’s the look! Next, I create a preset to apply the same look to all my photos in Lightroom including the ones I will edit on my phone
To create a preset, go to the Presets Tab on the left, click the + sign and select “Create Preset.” Afterwards, apply the preset to all your photos.
8. Apply the preset to all other photos
You will notice that the preset looks different on all photos and that’s okay! But the easiest part here is that you only need to adjust the Exposure & White Balance for each photo to achieve a cohesive look between all photos. That’s it!
How to Edit Photos Using Lightroom Mobile
1. Transfer the preset you created to your phone and install it into Lightroom Mobile like a photo
If you’re not sure how to do that, I have a step-by-step guide on how to export & install Lightroom Mobile presets here.
And if you haven’t installed Lightroom Mobile, I highly recommend the app! It provides so much flexibility when you’re editing on the go. And I especially love that I can achieve the same look on my photos with my phone just like how I would edit it on my computer. If you don’t have the app, click the appropriate link below to down it to your phone:
2. Create a new preset
In the Presets tab, select the top 3 dots and select “Create Preset” and rename it to any name you want. And then save. You can now use this preset to edit photos on your phone!
3. Apply the preset to all other photos just like on Lightroom
The same rule applies here so after you apply your presets, adjust the Exposure & White Balance for each photo. That’s it!
